How to prepare for a useful roofing estimate conversation

A short checklist of property details and questions that can make the first roofing conversation more productive.

You do not need technical roofing knowledge before requesting an estimate. A few practical details can help RoCo understand the property and decide what the next review should cover.

Information to gather

Begin with the property address, best phone number, the closest project need, and what prompted the request. If you know the approximate roof age or material, include it—but an estimate request can still start without those details.

  • Where the concern is visible
  • Whether there is active leaking
  • Whether the issue followed recent weather
  • Any previous repairs or related exterior plans

Questions to ask about the scope

Ask what was observed, what work is proposed, which areas are included, how changes would be handled, and what documents you will receive. Specific material, scheduling, and warranty details should be confirmed in the written proposal.

Keep private information out of the first form

A general estimate form should not contain payment information, passwords, recovery codes, policy numbers, or private documents. RoCo can explain a safer follow-up path if additional records become relevant.

Property-specific help

General guidance ends where the actual property begins.

RoCo can review the location and concern, then explain whether the request fits current coverage and what the next property review should include.
